Deleting your account & data
You can delete your FamiliaBase account and the personal data associated with it at any time — no questions asked. There are two ways, depending on whether you still have access to the app.
1. Delete inside the app (fastest)
- Open FamiliaBase and go to Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Delete account.
- Confirm with your password.
Deletion is immediate: your sign-in is disabled everywhere, active sessions are revoked, and your personal details are removed or irreversibly anonymised.
2. Request deletion without the app
If you no longer have the app installed, can't sign in, or simply prefer email, send a deletion request to hello@familiabase.com with the subject “Data deletion request”.
- Send it from the email address on your FamiliaBase account so we can verify the request belongs to you. If that mailbox is gone, tell us and we'll verify another way.
- We confirm receipt, verify ownership, and complete the deletion within 30 days — typically within a few business days.
- Parents and guardians may also request deletion of a child's membership and data in their household the same way.
3. What gets deleted — and what remains

| Your private content (e.g. private journal entries, private health records) | Inaccessible to everyone once your account is deleted |
| Shared household records you contributed (e.g. an expense in the family budget, a task you completed) | Remain with your household for its continuity, attributed to an anonymised “deleted user” instead of you |
| Residual copies in encrypted backups | Age out automatically on a rolling basis |
| Records we must keep for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons | Kept only as long as the law requires, then deleted |
